Many commercial outfitters are located in Riggins to guide and assist you in your Idaho adventure. Lodging, restaurants, historical tours and other services are also available. Located between the two deepest gorges in North America – Hells Canyon to the west and the Salmon River Canyon to the east – Riggins rides the banks of the Little Salmon and the famous Main Salmon "River of no Return".

Hiking and backpacking takes you into the heart of the Frank Church “River of No Return” Wilderness, the Seven Devils Mountains, as well as the Snake River of Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. There is a unique mix of rivers, streams, high mountain lakes, rugged canyons, alpine meadows, and forests with breath taking views which simply never end.
